Shlomo Korèn werd in 1932 geboren in Keulen. Voor de Tweede wereldoorlog emigreerde hij met zijn ouders naar Israel, waar hij zijn kunstopleiding kreeg. Sinds 1960 woont hij in Amsterdam. In het grasveld, in de as van de Churchilllaan, staat het kunstwerk Two Frames van Korèn. Veel mensen zien er niet veel meer in dan doelpalen op een sportveldje, maar deze schijnbare eenvoudige frames hebben bij nadere beschouwing een aardig spanningsveld.

Het lijkt wel of deze ramen de strijd uit wil beelden die de schoonheidcommissie (nu de commissie voor welstand en monumenten) en het (toenmalige) stadsdeel Rivierenbuurt in de jaren 1985 tot 1992 hebben gevoerd tegen de rigoureuze verwijdering bij renovatieprojecten van de oorspronkelijke houten kozijnen.
