Some of the beautifulst pages of the aviation history are preserved with these aircrafts, pure racers. They were designed exclusively to break the speed records; they were painted in RACING RED. They wrote some glorious pages, but also bloody ones... racing at an high speed, with an aircraft that was a little more than a prototype, brought fame and glory to the brave pilots which challenged the fortune flying fast low about the water. The main characteristic of these aircraft is that they were seaplane! They had to take off from and land into the water and the most sought prize was the Schneider cup. The nicest collection of racing seaplanes is preserved by the Vigna Di Valle aeronautical museum: they are the Italian racers !!
