Dopo un accurato restauro durato circa due mesi, sono state restituite alla città le sculture bifrontali di Pietro Consagra, 'Giallo Mori' e 'Nembro Rosato', situate alla fine di via Dei Mercanti verso piazza Duomo. L’intervento è stato reso possibile grazie alla donazione di un privato ed eseguito da una ditta specializzata con la supervisione della Soprintendenza per i Beni Architettonici e Paesaggistici di Milano, degli architetti del Settore Arredo urbano e Verde del Comune di Milano e dell’Archivio ‘Pietro Consagra’. 'Milano – afferma l’assessora al Verde e Arredo urbano Chiara Bisconti – ha l’onore di ospitare opere e sculture di pregio inestimabile. Un vero e proprio patrimonio culturale a cielo aperto che si svela nelle piazze e nei parchi cittadini e che annovera anche le due statue di Consagra. Il loro restauro, realizzato grazie alla generosa donazione di un privato, ci ha permesso di restituire alla città esempi di grande espressione artistica, valorizzando ulteriormente il centro storico di Milano'. Le opere, datate 1977 e donate al Comune di Milano dallo stesso artista, prendono il nome dai marmi in cui sono realizzate. L’intervento di restauro si è reso necessario proprio per ripulire i marmi, le cui sfumature di colore conferiscono unicità alle sculture, e per ripristinare alcune parti danneggiate. L’effetto degli agenti atmosferici ha infatti determinato nel tempo alcune fessurazioni con il conseguente distacco di parti della superficie scolpita. Un danneggiamento che ha compromesso il disegno originale, unico e irripetibile, delle opere di Consagra e che con questo restauro è stato sistemato. Per evitare nuove lesioni e consolidare l’intervento, è stato previsto un trattamento finale con cere microcristalline e antigraffiti destinate a proteggere nel tempo le superfici. Pietro Consagra (1920-2005) ha operato sulla scena internazionale sin dal 1949, partecipando assiduamente alle Biennali di Venezia e vincendo il Premio per la Scultura nel 1960. È stato antesignano nell’uso del colore nella scultura. All’inizio del 1968, l’artista sperimenta lo spessore minimo della scultura bifrontale, portando la sua superficie a una stupefacente trasparenza. Le opere di Consagra sono conservate nei maggiori musei internazionali tra cui, per citarne solo alcuni, il Museum of Modern Art di New York, la National Gallery di Washington, l’Ermitage di San Pietroburgo, la Galleria Nazionale d’Arte Moderna di Roma, il Musée d’Art Moderne Centre Georges Pompidou di Parigi, il Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes di Buenos Aires.

After a careful restoration which lasted approximately two months, were returned to the city of the sculptures by Pietro Consagra, 47"Moors" and"Yellow Nembro Rosé", located at the end of via Dei Mercanti to piazza Duomo. The effect weathering has caused some cracks over time with the consequent detachment of parts of the carved surface. Corruption that has undermined the original design, unique and unrepeatable, Consagra works and that this restoration was placed. To avoid reinjury and consolidate the intervention, has been predicted a final treatment with crystalline waxes and anti-graffiti intended to protect surfaces over time. Consagra's works are preserved in the major international museums including, to name just a few, the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the National Gallery in Washington, the Hermitage in St. Petersburg, the Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna in Rome, the Musée d'Art Moderne Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris, the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes in Buenos Aires.
