Life in the city and all of the activities and fuss of a socially active person can sometimes leave him frustrated and tired or even unhappy and afraid of himself and his surroundings. This rootless feeling very often occurs when public space shamelessly breaks into private space. In this kind of situation there ‘s a feeling that you want to disappear in the very blink of an eye and retreat to the safest place in the world – under your blanket. The artist created a place that acts as a temporary shelter, an improvised private space where, in case of emergency anyone can get back to this last place of peace to regain his confidence and clear his mind.

De sculptuur van de Letse kunstenaar Bočkis (1984) werd verworven op de Letse beeldententoonstelling in het Westerpark in 2008. Thema hiervan was ‘Homo urbanus - homo sapiens?’ (‘Een stedeling - een redelijk wezen?’). Kunstenaars uit Riga presenteerden in beelden en installaties hun visies op de moderne mens in de grote steden van de 21ste-eeuw.
Asnate Bočkis (1984) zegt over zijn werk: 'Life in the city can make a person frustrated and tired or even unhappy. In that kind of situations you want to disappear and get to the most safe place in the world - under the blanket. This thought gave me an inspiration to make a piece in the city which could work like a temporary shelter. Where a person can clean up his mind in the same way as it is possible under the cosey, warm blanket.'
