Giny Vos is best known for her poetic installations in public space in which light and technique play an important role. For the Nieuwezijds Armsteeg Fox designed the artwork for The White Cube. The title of the work refers to an exhibition hall as white cube, a spotless, pure white space in which silence, attention and respect and that in everything is the opposite of the chaotic lane. With The White Cube creates Fox a clear, clean place in the Nieuwezijds Armsteeg and by transferring the Museum atmosphere, she hopes to encourage respectful behavior of the users. The White Cube is made on a residential complex for years is plagued by wild pissers – despite various measures. First of all, the facade on the kick: new, identical doors were placed, window frames and letterboxes were painted and the wall was lined with finely ribbed aluminium plates. Something looked into this aluminum wall brought Fox a perspective drawing with light lines. The drawing, which will include existing Windows, doors and letterboxes have been given a role, gives the illusion of three-dimensionality, as if the spectator through the wall looks and there are empty, whisper-quiet museum rooms. Amid the cacophony of color, Chinese characters, graffiti and sample tattoos that the street scene in the alley, the sober design determines The White Cube's sleep. At the same time, the work for wonder; because the lines of The White Cube led lights are illuminated indirectly with a strip, it seems to have been carried out with pure light. The White Cube not only changes the perception of the public space in a positive way, the striking work of art attracts the Nieuwezijds Armsteeg also from the anonymity www.ginyvos.nl:
