Chairman Mao Memorial Hall is located in the south Tiananmen Square. This Memorial Hall is the final resting place of Mao Zedong, the chairman of the Communist Party in China. Completed in May 1977, it is just 8 months after the death of Mao Zedong (1893-1976). After his death, the body was embalmed and construction of a mausoleum began. Chairman Mao’s Memorial Hall is 260 meters long and 220 meters wide with the total area of 57,000 square meters. The main body is 105.5 meters long and 33.6 meters tall. This attractions is the worth place to visit for you in Tiananmen Square. The Memorial Hall visitors are allowed to enter the hall, but forbid to take pictures or video inside the hall. The visitors also don’t allow bring their bags and slippers inside. As with most mausoleums, strict rules are enforced for visitors which include no talking, no smoking, no shorts or miniskirts.
