Two masks look at each other. Because of the veil on one of the masks it’s obviously closed. The other one is acting like it’s making contact, but all the signs of a mask are still showing.
You can recognize a mask on the discrepancy between the emotion which is evoked and the context. It can happen that you see a smiling face while you feel different and seem to witness the same upon the other.
These masks have dots on their neck and their back of the head, as if they are wearing a chain armor. Could the artist mean that a lot of people defend themselves and are hostile to each other?
Heads by Jun Kaneko shows people who are unfriendly, closed, and faked with each other. It would be a pity when people behave like this.

Twee maskers kijken elkaar aan. Aan de sluier van het ene masker zie je duidelijk dat het gesloten is. De ander doet nét alsof het contact maakt, maar alle trekken van een masker blijven zichtbaar.
Een masker herken je aan de discrepantie tussen de emotie die je meent te zien bij de ander en de setting. Het kan gebeuren dat je een lachend gezicht ziet terwijl je zelf iets anders voelt en dit ook bij de ander meent te bespeuren.
Deze maskers hebben een gestippeld achterhoofd en hals, alsof zij een maliënkolder dragen. Zou de kunstenaar hiermee bedoelen dat veel mensen zichzelf verdedigen en vijandig ten opzichte van elkaar staan?
