The sculptor depicts a number of human figures clustered in a tight pattern, most with indistinguishable facial expressions. The sculpture was completed in 1967 and was purchased by France’s National Fund of Contemporary Art. It was placed in the Tuileries Garden in 2000. Although Raymond Mason was born and raised in Birmingham, England, he spent the majority of his life in Paris. His work often depicted closely grouped figures, as if a group of people on a busy street.
